In the near future, most of humanity is living their day to day life through a Surrogate body (or Surri). Locking themselves up in the safety of their own homes has lowered physical interaction as well as the crime rate. When two surrogates are destroyed by a terrorist bent on returning the world to a time when life was lived rather than played out, it is up to detectives Harvey Greer and Pete Ford to find and stop them.

The Surrogates is a cat and mouse sci-fi thriller with a fresh take on the dystopian future. Venditti and Weldele ask how far we would take consumerism in the search for a fountain of youth and to what lengths we would go to maintain our humanity.

Dark and sad, this is a great action packed comic with which I would recommend to fans or Asimov and Alan Moore's V For Vendetta.
